The Opportunity
UST is looking for Lab support.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Support platform bring-up activities including system setup, movement, and teardown
- Assemble and disassemble hardware platforms such as servers, desktops, and test systems
- Install and configure operating systems (Linux, Windows, VMware) under guidance
- Perform basic troubleshooting of hardware and software issues
- Assist with BIOS, firmware, and driver updates as instructed
- Support lab infrastructure activities including rack setup, cabling, and cable management
- Maintain lab discipline including cleanliness, safety, and ESD compliance
- Assist with inventory handling, asset tracking, and documentation updates
- Collect logs, run basic tests, and share results with senior engineers
- Follow standard operating procedures and comply with lab safety policies
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and system components
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows environments
- Exposure to lab equipment and hardware handling practices
- Basic networking knowledge (DHCP, Static IP concepts)
- Ability to follow technical instructions and procedures accurately
- Good documentation and communication skills
- Strong teamwork and willingness to learn
