Role Description
Job Title: Analyst – Derivatives
Role Overview
Derivatives team is a multi-skilled function covering cash operations, asset servicing, trade operations, and derivatives. This role requires working in a fast-paced operations environment with a strong focus on accuracy, risk control, and timely execution. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and keen to leverage technology to improve processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Process assigned transactions and events within defined deadlines, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor, follow up, and escalate issues appropriately based on urgency and impact.
- Prioritize workload effectively and manage competing deadlines.
- Investigate and resolve queries, including stock and cash reconciliation breaks.
- Escalate unresolved issues based on defined criteria (e.g., age, value, client impact).
- Handle client and stakeholder queries with a focus on quality and timely communication.
- Adhere to operational controls and procedures, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and improve service quality.
- Take ownership of ad-hoc tasks and project work, delivering within agreed timelines.
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams (e.g., Portfolio Implementers, Dealers) and external stakeholders.
- Support a collaborative and positive team environment.
Must-Have Skills (Mandatory)
- Hands-on experience with Aladdin platform
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Basic understanding of transaction services lifecycle (cash, trades, asset servicing)
- Ability to identify, escalate, and manage operational risks
Good-to-Have Skills (Preferred)
- Working knowledge of Derivatives, including collateral management
- Experience in Trade Operations across asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income including ABS/MBS, FX, Money Markets, Units, Repo, Term Deposits)
- Experience in Cash Operations, especially payments processing
- Knowledge of SWIFT messaging standards
- Understanding of Corporate Actions (mandatory & voluntary events, income processing)
- Awareness of operational risks across the transaction/asset lifecycle
- Experience in process improvement or automation initiatives

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field
- Relevant experience in financial services / operations preferred
