Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Governance
- Translate business objectives into electrical engineering roadmaps, standards, and budgets.
- Develop and enforce SOPs, design standards, and change‑control for electrical assets.
- Engineering & Projects
- Oversee concept, basic, and detailed design reviews (medium/high voltage distribution, protection & control, earthing, lighting, MCC/PLC, DG/UPS, solar/BESS integration).
- Lead project planning, estimation, tendering/technical bid evaluations, and contractor oversight.
- Ensure compliance with IEC/IS/IEEE/NFPA codes and local statutory requirements.
- Operations & Reliability
- Own uptime, power quality, and energy efficiency for plants/sites; drive RCM/RCFA and predictive maintenance.
- Approve protection settings/coordination studies; ensure incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Optimize O&M budgets, spares strategy, and vendor SLAs.
- Safety & Compliance
- Champion electrical safety (LOTO, arc‑flash hazard analysis, PTW, statutory inspections).
- Ensure adherence to regulatory bodies (CEIG/EI, DISCOM, electrical inspectorate) and audit closure.
- People & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and develop a multi‑disciplinary team; build succession and competency plans.
- Partner with projects, operations, procurement, finance, EHS, and external authorities.
- Digital & Continuous Improvement
- Deploy condition monitoring (IR/Thermography, partial discharge), SCADA/DCS/EMS, CMMS analytics.
- Drive energy cost reduction (power factor, harmonics mitigation, demand management, open access/renewable mix).
- Lead Kaizen/Lean initiatives and benchmarking.
Qualifications
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech.) in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
- Master’s (M.E./M.Tech./MBA) in Power Systems/Energy/Operations (preferred).
- Valid Electrical Supervisor/Competency certificate as per regional statutory norms (preferred/if applicable).
Experience
- Total Experience: 12–16 years in electrical engineering across projects and O&M (industrial, utilities, infrastructure, or large commercial/mission‑critical).
- Leadership: 5+ years leading teams and contractors; managed multi‑site or large‑scale projects.
