We are hiring for a premier departmental fashion retailer based in Gurgaon, operating a robust omnichannel business model that seamlessly integrates their physical retail stores with their fast-growing e-commerce platform. Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and process-driven Chartered Accountant to join our team as a Finance Controller. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in statutory audits from a Big 5/6 firm (such as BDO, Grant Thornton, etc.) and bring a rigorous approach to financial compliance, reporting, and internal controls within a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Control & Reporting:
- Oversee month-end and year-end financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS).
Audit Management:
- Act as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors, drawing on your Big 5/6 statutory audit background to streamline the audit process and resolve queries efficiently.
Omnichannel Accounting:
- Manage the financial complexities of an omnichannel retail model, including inventory valuation, revenue recognition across offline and online channels, and cost analysis.
Internal Controls:
- Design, implement, and monitor robust internal financial controls (IFC) to mitigate risk, safeguard company assets, and prevent revenue leakage.
Taxation & Compliance:
- Ensure timely calculation, filing, and compliance for all direct and indirect taxes (GST, TDS, Income Tax) applicable to the retail sector.
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Assist leadership in variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to drive profitability across different store locations and digital platforms.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
- 1 to 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Mandatory articleship/post-qualification experience in a Big 5/6 firm (e.g., EY, BDO, GT, RSM, etc.) with a strong focus on statutory audits.
- Preferred: Prior exposure or auditing experience in the retail, e-commerce, or omnichannel business space.
- Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
