Job Description

Position: Associate – Finance & Accounts

Location: Nasik, Maharashtra

Department: Finance & Accounts

Reporting To: Senior Manager Finance

1. Role Overview

The Associate – Finance & Accounts will be responsible for managing day-to-day

accounting and inventory operations at the Nasik depot, including sales and purchase

accounting, inventory tracking, and supporting statutory compliance.

The role requires strong ownership of transaction accuracy, inventory controls, and

coordination with the Head Office finance team in Bangalore to ensure timely and

accurate reporting.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Sales & Dispatch Accounting

• Booking of sales invoices in Zoho Books.

• Ensuring all dispatches are accurately tracked and invoiced.

• Monitoring pending invoicing against dispatches.

B. Purchase & Inward Accounting

• Booking of purchase invoices after verification with GRN and approvals.

• Ensuring 3-way matching (PO – GRN – Invoice), wherever applicable.

• Timely recording and proper classification of purchases and expenses.

C. Inventory Accounting & Control

• Maintaining accurate inventory records in Zoho.

• Tracking all inward and outward material movements.

• Ensuring proper item master discipline and categorisation.

• Identifying and reporting slow-moving or obsolete inventory.

D. Physical Stock Verification

• Conducting monthly physical stock verification at the depot.

• Reconciling physical stock with system records.

• Investigating discrepancies and sharing detailed reports with Head Office.

• Ensuring timely corrective actions on stock variances.

E. Statutory Compliance & MIS Support

• Preparing data for GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) and TDS workings.

• Supporting GST reconciliations (books vs returns).

• Providing timely inputs for monthly MIS, including:

o Sales register

o Purchase register

o Inventory reports

• Maintaining proper documentation for audits and compliance.

F. Coordination with Head Office

• Acting as the finance point of contact for the Nasik depot.

• Ensuring timely closure of books for month-end.

• Coordinating with the Bangalore finance team for queries, reconciliations, and

reporting requirements.

3. Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals.

• Working knowledge of GST and TDS.

• Hands-on experience in Zoho / Tally / ERP systems.

• Proficiency in MS Excel (reconciliation, basic analysis).

• High attention to detail and control-oriented mindset.

• Ability to work independently in a semi-structured environment.

4. Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com), M.Com, MBA (Finance), or CA Inter.

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts.

• Experience in manufacturing / inventory-based environment preferred.

• Prior exposure to Branch/ depot accounting will be an added advantage.

5. Other Requirements

• Based in or willing to relocate to Nasik, Maharashtra.

• Strong communication and coordination skills.
