Job Description:
Job Summary
Treasury works closely with senior management, the businesses, Country CEOs / CFOs, and Finance to manage and promote the bank’s liquidity, capital, and balance sheet position. Treasury is laser-focussed on its vision to be “Open, progressive and trusted, working commercially with our partners” to create sustainable value by balancing the supply and demand of liquidity and capital.
Within Treasury (which comprises Capital, Liquidity & Markets), the Treasury Liquidity function is responsible for driving the strategic liquidity agenda and Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Booking (‘IRRBB’).
The Associate Director – IRRBB, India hub will support the Head of IRRBB, India Hub in advancing IRRBB Analytics for overseeing and executing comprehensive internal analyses. The role holder will lead a team dedicated to migrating and centralising global IRRBB processes from Group and Clusters, performing detailed stress tests and scenario analyses, leveraging IRRBB data to provide insightful risk assessments and mitigation strategies. This position requires a deep understanding of IRRBB, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy
- Keep up to date with the Group’s business strategy (incl. SC Ventures) and ensure the IRRBB frameworks are aligned to that.
- Partner with Global Head of IRRBB in developing and recommending risk mitigation strategies based on the findings from stress tests and scenario analyses. Ensure that these strategies are effectively communicated and implemented across relevant business units.
Business
- Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates, with a focus on the Group’s participation in the Digital Assets and platforms space.
- Provide insights on current and forward looking IRRBB exposures, impact assessments on interest income and actions available for balance sheet optimisation.
- Lead the engagement with businesses on balance sheet optimisation strategies including but not limited to asset & liability mix to manage IRRBB while optimising returns.
Processes
- Analytics: Support the newly developed IRRBB analytics capabilities on a regular basis, including operating the RCO IRRBB calculation engine to run bespoke scenarios and extracting and analysing the results, covering key metric including, but not limited to, Weekly NIIS Flash, Hedging Strategy Assessments, Corporate Plan NII impact simulations and PV01 analysis. This will also involve working with CPM and Finance closely to prepare MI slides for relevant committees like GALCO, ALCO and IRRBB Steering Forums.
- Strategy: Support IRRBB strategy by engaging Treasury Markets on NII sensitivities, hedging performance and P&L forecasting. Support investor relations for quarterly results, including GALCO/ALCO hedging updates, and contribute to annual disclosures through slide preparation, briefing notes, Q&A drafting and investor query responses.
- Framework & Governance: Support IRRBB governance through preparation of monthly GALCO/ALCO packs with commentary, review of risk metrics and monitoring of group, solo and local limits. Lead regulatory submissions and challenge returns, oversee MAT and risk appetite reviews, maintain IRRBB policies, support disclosures and audits, escalate emerging topics and drive regulatory engagement and interpretation.
- Modelling & Methodology: Apply and maintain IRRBB models per regulatory requirements, including PTR and CASA assumptions. Review and update IRRBB and structural hedging policies, maintain standards, and perform annual forecasts of NII, EBE, and P2A. Conduct policy effectiveness, self-assessment, gap and impact analyses, harmonize models with group, and run simulations and scenario analyses to support regulatory and corporate planning.
- Structural Hedging: Support the structural hedging in planning, executing, and monitoring hedges, including P&L sign-off and capacity management. Support group IRBB hedging programs, assess available instruments, forecast and quantify hedge requirements, run analytics and simulations, and provide MI for GALCO discussions to drive informed hedging decisions.
- Stress Testing: Support IRRBB stress testing including ICAAP and Pillar 2 assessments, NMD parameter stress, country/cluster ICAP, and reverse stress testing. Conduct basis risk evaluations, Pillar 2 charge reviews, and prepare Pillar 3 disclosures. Support IRBB-related GIA and audit reviews, ensuring all stress testing aligns with ORF requirements and regulatory expectations.
- IRRBB Technology Journey: Support delivery of new system rollouts, enhancements and data fixes by providing requirements, validating functionality, and ensuring data accuracy. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement changes efficiently, maintain alignment with IRRBB policy and reporting standards, and drive continuous improvement of systems and processes.
People & Talent

Risk Management
- Oversee enterprise-wide interest rate risk in the banking book ensuring alignment with risk appetite and regulatory requirements. Monitor, measure and manage exposures, set limits, and perform scenario analysis and stress testing. Maintain robust frameworks, policies and governance, validate models, provide insights for strategic planning and support senior management, GALCO/ALCO and regulators on risk mitigation, reporting and capital optimisation.
Governance
- Assess the effectiveness arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the IRRBB frameworks and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas
- Understand the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
- Contribute to delivering ‘effective governance’ by actively challenging Treasury / Business / Risk counterparts; and willingness to work with the Prudential Regulatory Authority in an open and cooperative manner.

Skills and Experience
- Degree in Finance (MBA) / Economics / Quantitative fields from a reputed institution.
- Finance Professionals (Qualified Chartered Accountant) or Certifications like FRM, PRM or CFA is advantageous
- Over 10+ years proven experience in Treasury Liquidity, Balance Sheet Management, Asset & Liability Management and/or Finance / Risk with strong understanding of FTP, Funding & Liquidity Regulation, Balance Sheet & Sources / Uses of Funding from top-tier banks / consultancy firms
- Familiarity with banking book and trading book products and their impact on balances sheet, as well as funding requirements that arise from off-balance sheet positions
- Good knowledge of cash flow modelling, liquidity & IRRBB risk, predictive models, trade simulations and Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) mechanisms.
- Experience in data analysis, data architecture, data transformations, building end to end inhouse data flows (pipes) from source to output, in a bank environment is advantageous
- Ability to understand, define and articulate business requirements in a clear, precise manner (with project management experience is advantageous).
- Ability to think objectively and commercially to help identify solutions to potential problems or emerging risks on the horizon via funding simulations and contingency planning
- Experience with writing and presenting qualitative papers and presenting a plan, and reasons for deviations to that plan to Executive/Board level.
- Ability to scope and conduct data intensive numerical studies and present the results in a concise and clear manner to audiences.
- Able to work independently yet a great team player.
