Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Associate Director – Accounts to own end-to-end accounting for Amber's global entities — USA, China, and other regions — reporting into the VP Finance. This is a replacement hire for a critical role that owns books of accounts, statutory compliance, and audit closure across global geographies. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting depth, first-hand exposure to multi-entity/multi-currency operations, and the maturity to work independently across time zones with local advisors, auditors, and banking partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual book closure for Amber's USA, China, and other entities
- Ensure accounting is maintained in line with local GAAP/IFRS requirements as applicable to each entity, with reconciliation to group reporting standards
- Manage statutory and tax compliance calendars for each geography, working with local consultants/advisors (payroll tax, sales tax/VAT, corporate tax filings, annual returns, etc.)
- Lead audit closure for global entities — coordinate with statutory auditors, prepare schedules, resolve queries, and ensure timely sign-off
- Own intercompany accounting and reconciliations across India, USA, China, and other entities
- Manage banking operations, cross-border payments, and FX/remittance accounting for global entities
- Build and maintain robust internal controls, SOPs, and documentation for global accounting processes
- Partner with FP&A, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure accounting positions are aligned with business and regulatory requirements
- Person would be responsible for ensuring global compliances
- Drive process standardization and automation across global entity accounting
- Manage and mentor a small team handling day-to-day accounting for these geographies.
Requirements
- CA qualification mandatory
- Prior experience handling accounting for global/non-India entities is a plusStrong academic record
- Comfortable working with multi-currency, multi-GAAP accounting and cross-border compliance
- Strong stakeholder management skills — ability to work independently with overseas auditors, tax consultants, and bankers
- High ownership mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving business environment
- Experience in startups, internet businesses, or high-growth organizations is a plus
