1. Role Overview
The L1 Oracle EBS Finance Consultant will be responsible for providing first-level functional
support across Oracle EBS Financial modules. The role involves ticket tracking, issue resolution,
basic setups verification, coordination with L2/L3 teams, and supporting day-to-day business
operations in modules such as AP, AR, GL, CM, FA, Purchasing, Order Management.
2. Key Responsibilities
Functional Support:
● Handle L1 support tickets related to Oracle Financial modules (AP, AR, GL, Cash Management, FA).
● Perform initial analysis, validate user inputs, and provide first-level resolution for common issues.
● Support basic configurations such as document sequencing, payment terms, supplier/customer setups, and account setups.
● Assist users in navigating forms, creating transactions, and understanding EBS processes.
● Validate daily transactions like invoice entry, payment processing, journal entries, bank reconciliation, etc.
Ticket Management & Issue Resolution:
● Perform triage and categorization of incidents and service requests.
● Gather detailed information from end users and reproduce issues where possible.
● Escalate tickets to L2/L3 team with clear documentation and root cause analysis notes.
● Follow standard ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management.
Month-End / Period Close Support:
● Support business users during monthly/quarterly closing activities.
● Execute checklists like:
o Unposting / Unaccounted transactions validation
o Sub ledger to GL reconciliation
o Pending journal review
o Asset depreciation run support
User Support & Documentation:
● Respond to user queries via email, ticketing system or calls.
● Prepare and maintain SOPs, user manuals, training guides, and KT documents.
● Assist in new user on-boarding and access requests.
Coordination & Communication:
● Collaborate closely with business teams, L2 consultants, DBAs, and technical developers.
● Provide daily status updates, incident summaries, and participate in support meetings.
3. Required Skills & Competencies
Functional Skills:
● Basic understanding of Oracle EBS Financial modules:
o Accounts Payable (AP)
o Accounts Receivable (AR)
o General Ledger (GL)
o Fixed Assets (FA)
o Cash Management (CM)
● Knowledge of end-to-end processes like P2P, O2C, and R2R.
Technical/Tool Skills:
● Awareness of SQL for data verification (good to have).
● Experience using ticketing tools.
● Basic understanding of EBS tables and data flows is an advantage.
Soft Skills
● Good communication and analytical skills.
● Ability to work in shift-based support environment.
● Quick learner with strong customer service orientation.
