Position - Associate (Horticulture & Plantation)
Location - Andhra Pradesh (Any location)
Role Overview
The Associate – Horticulture & Plantation will lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of large-scale plantation and horticulture initiatives aligned with regenerative agriculture and ARR carbon projects. The role requires strong on-ground execution capability, stakeholder coordination, plantation management expertise, and experience working with farmers, field teams, and implementation partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end execution of horticulture and plantation projects including site preparation, plantation planning, species selection, and monitoring.
- Manage on-ground plantation activities across agroforestry, orchards, regenerative agriculture, and afforestation programs.
- Coordinate with farmers, FPOs, NGOs, nurseries, and local stakeholders for smooth project implementation and long-term plantation success.
- Monitor plantation health, survival rates, irrigation systems, soil conditions, and biomass growth to ensure project performance.
- Support ARR and AFOLU carbon projects through field data collection, plantation mapping, and implementation tracking.
- Maintain operational records, field reports, and plantation documentation for audit and monitoring purposes.
- Collaborate with carbon, GIS, and field teams to ensure timely execution and alignment with sustainability and carbon project objectives.
Qualifications
- MBA or PGDM in Horticulture, Forestry, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in horticulture, plantation management, agroforestry, or regenerative agriculture projects.
- Strong understanding of plantation operations, nursery management, irrigation practices, and crop/tree maintenance.
- Experience managing field teams and coordinating with farmers, rural communities, or implementation partners.
- Familiarity with agroforestry, afforestation, or landscape restoration projects is preferred.
- Basic understanding of ARR/AFOLU carbon projects and sustainability initiatives is an added advantage.
- Strong communication, reporting, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
