Role Description
We are looking for a Backend Developer with 6 months to 1 year of experience to join our engineering team at Shipturtle. You will work on building and maintaining backend systems that power integrations, inventory sync, and order workflows across multiple platforms.
This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, curious, and comfortable learning quickly in a fast-moving product environment.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend services using Laravel (PHP).
- Design and implement REST APIs and background jobs.
- Work with MySQL to design, query, and optimize database operations.
- Use Redis for caching, queues, and performance optimization.
- Use AI development tools (e.g., code assistants, debugging tools, and documentation tools) responsibly to accelerate development while maintaining high code quality.
Requirements
- 6 months to 1 year of backend development experience.
- Working knowledge of PHP and Laravel framework.
- Basic understanding of MySQL databases and query optimization.
- Familiarity with Redis / caching / queue concepts.
- Experience working with REST APIs and third-party integrations.
- Comfortable using Git for version control.
- Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to learn quickly.
Good to Have
- Experience working with high-traffic or integration-heavy systems.
- Familiarity with queues, async jobs, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience using AI tools to assist with coding, debugging, and documentation.
