Job Title: Associate
Department: Asset Management – Investment Operations / Reporting
About Business line/Function: Asset Management Reporting is responsible for transforming validated investment, accounting, pricing, and reference data into accurate, timely, and compliant reports for clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders. The function supports multiple reporting types across asset classes, geographies, and regulatory regimes.
Position Purpose: The Validator role acts as the independent quality, control, and risk assurance layer within the Asset Management Reporting lifecycle. The role ensures that all reports produced are technically accurate, conceptually sound, methodologically consistent, and compliant with internal standards, client requirements, and regulatory expectations before final release.
The Validator is accountable for challenging outputs, validating assumptions, and preventing incorrect or misleading information from reaching clients or regulators.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
- Perform independent validation of reports produced by Processors, focusing on accuracy, completeness, consistency, and appropriateness.
- Review calculations, methodologies, disclosures, narratives, and trends across reporting periods.
- Execute second-level controls and formally evidence validation and sign-off.
- Ensure outputs align with documented procedures, regulatory guidance, and client expectations
Contributing Responsibilities
- Challenge unusual movements, overrides, or explanations and ensure they are supported by facts and documentations
- Identify systemic issues, recurring errors, or control weaknesses and escalate with root-cause analysis.
- Support internal audits, external audits, and regulatory reviews with clear explanations and evidence.
- Provide feedback and guidance to Processors to improve overall quality maturity.
- Contribute to strengthening control frameworks and standardization.

- Strong conceptual understanding of Asset Management Reporting – performance, holdings, regulatory disclosures, and client‑reporting objectives.
- Ability to interpret, trace, and validate complex data flows across investment, accounting, pricing, and reference‑data domains.
- Solid knowledge of control frameworks, audit expectations, and risk‑management principles.
- Capability to assess methodological appropriateness—not just numerical accuracy—of reporting calculations.

Specific Qualifications:
- PG‑degree in Finance or related field
- Mastery of performance measurement & attribution (arithmetic & geometric)
- Know Brinson‑Fachler/Brinson‑Hood‑Beebower models (allocation, selection, interaction)
- Experience with portfolio returns, benchmark comparison & multi‑asset performance analysis
- Skilled in handling holdings, transactions, pricing & FX data for attribution
- Ability to reconcile and variance‑analyse performance system outputs
- Prior hands‑on work in Performance Attribution/Measurement or Investment Reporting (preferred)
Skills Referential (Required knowledge, skills and abilities)
Technical Skills:
- Asset Management Reporting concepts (performance, holdings, regulatory disclosures)
- Data validation and reconciliation techniques
- Advanced Excel; familiarity with reporting platforms and databases
- Understanding of control frameworks and audit expectations

Education Level:
Post Graduate degree in Finance
Candidates with equivalent professional experience in Asset Management Operations or Financial Reporting may be considered.
