About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and well-connected Associate Account Director – Media Relations to lead strategic media engagement initiatives from our Pune office. The role requires a seasoned communications professional with strong relationships across print, digital, television, and regional media, along with the ability to drive impactful storytelling, manage high-value client mandates, and mentor a growing team.
Key Responsibilities
Media Relations & Strategic Communications
- Build, strengthen, and maintain strong relationships with key journalists, editors, influencers, and media stakeholders across Maharashtra and national media.
- Develop and execute proactive media outreach strategies aligned with client objectives.
- Identify news opportunities, trends, and story angles to secure high-quality media coverage.
- Manage media interactions, interviews, press conferences, site visits, and stakeholder engagements.
- Handle crisis communication and sensitive media situations with strategic counsel and timely execution.
Content & Messaging
- Oversee the development of press releases, media notes, speeches, key messages, FAQs, and briefing documents.
- Ensure all communication materials align with brand positioning and organizational objectives.
- Provide editorial guidance and maintain high standards of quality across content outputs.
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of account managers and executives.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on excellence and innovation.
- Monitor team productivity, delivery timelines, and client satisfaction metrics.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 8–10 years of experience in public relations or corporate communications, preferably in an agency environment.
- Strong network across Pune media, including English, Marathi, and business publications.
- Proven track record of securing impactful media coverage and managing high-profile communication campaigns.
- Strong stakeholder management, presentation, and leadership capabilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
