🚨 We're Hiring: Associate – IPR Litigation (Kolkata) 🚨
S Majumdar & Co, a full-service Intellectual Property Law firm with offices across four cities, is looking for an experienced Associate to join our IPR Litigation team in Kolkata.
📌 What we're looking for: ✔ Minimum 5 years PQE ✔ Mandatory Bar Council enrolment (please share your enrolment ID and AIBE status in your cover letter) ✔ Strong grounding in Civil Procedure ✔ Prior litigation experience in Intellectual Property disputes — big advantage ✔ Familiarity with the Commercial Courts Act — desirable ✔ Excellent written and spoken English ✔ Basic computer proficiency ✔ A genuine, long-term interest in building a career in IP law
💼 What you'll be doing: 🔹 Advising on IP disputes — from first assessment to long-term case strategy 🔹 Managing day-to-day matters before Courts and the IPO 🔹 Drafting pleadings, applications, and replies — plaints, written statements, interlocutory applications, and more 🔹 Briefing Senior Advocates for urgent, time-sensitive reliefs 🔹 Conducting legal research and case law analysis to build strong arguments 🔹 Contributing to enforcement strategy and IP protection planning for clients 🔹 Writing for the Firm's blog 🔹 Collaborating with our IP professionals across cities 🔹 Keeping senior management updated on key developments
