Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for an Assistant Manager - Accounts & Statutory Compliance, based in Gurgaon. The role involves managing day-to-day accounting, book keeping, ensuring statutory compliance, preparing financial reports, monitoring budgets, maintaining and monitoring stock, Tax credits and liaising with auditors. The Assistant Manager will also oversee GST/Tax filings, maintain accurate financial records, and support process improvements in financial operations.
Strategic Multi-State Logistics & GST
Complex Supply Chain Accounting: Manage the accounting for sophisticated delivery models, including Sale in Transit (where goods move from a vendor to a customer via our billing) and Inter-State Stock Transfers.
Nexus & Place of Supply: Advise the team on the most tax-efficient "Ship-from" and "Bill-to" scenarios to optimize cash flow and minimize blocked Input Tax Credit (ITC) for stock transfers, sale in transit and other such scenarios.
Inventory Integrity: Maintain rigorous control over "In-Transit" inventory across multiple state warehouses, ensuring the digital books perfectly mirror physical movements.
High-Value Statutory Compliance
TDS Management: Oversee the specialized compliance required for high-ticket procurement (transactions exceeding Rs. 50 Lakhs with individual suppliers). You will be responsible for the accuracy of deductions and the reconciliation of taxes collected by vendors.
Advance Tax & Cash Flow: Forecast and manage Advance Tax liabilities based on projected profitability, ensuring the company avoids interest penalties while maintaining operational liquidity.
Regulatory Advisory: Act as the internal expert on statutory changes, providing day-to-day advice to management on how new rules impact our business model.
Financial Governance & Reporting
Audit Leadership: Support preparation for Statutory and Tax Audits. You must be able to defend complex accounting treatments for inter-state movements and high-value reconciliations.
Month-End Closures: Ensure timely closing of books across all GSTINs, with a focus on reconciling vendor statements and customer ledgers to prevent aging disputes.
Process Automation: Continuously improve our accounting workflows within the ERP to handle increasing transaction volumes with higher accuracy.
Required Profile
Advanced Technical Grip: Deep understanding of the interplay between the Income Tax Act and GST Law in a high-turnover environment.
Industry Background: Previous experience in Trading, Distribution, or EPC sectors where logistics and tax optimization are core to the business.
Systems Expert: High proficiency in Tally Prime and Advanced Excel for handling large datasets and multi-entity consolidations.
Analytical Problem Solver: Ability to look at a complex logistical requirement and provide an immediate, compliant accounting solution.
