Position Overview
The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Enterprise Project Management is a senior executive responsible for enterprise strategy execution and the project governance system. This role entails formulating enterprise-level project management strategies, establishing governance frameworks, driving the implementation of major projects, and ensuring the effective realization of corporate strategic goals.
Typically reporting to the CEO, COO, or the corporate strategy committee, the SVP ensures the timely, high-quality, and cost-effective completion of critical strategic projects by integrating resources, optimizing processes, enhancing organizational execution capabilities, and driving business transformation.
This role carries significant strategic execution responsibilities within large conglomerates, multinational corporations, technology firms, manufacturing enterprises, financial institutions, and high-growth companies.
Core Responsibilities
I. Enterprise Project Management Strategy Formulation and Execution
Formulate enterprise project management strategies, annual project plans, and execution roadmaps;
Establish an enterprise-level project management system;
Translate corporate strategic goals into project portfolios and execution plans;
Provide project execution analysis and strategic recommendations to the CEO and senior management team.
II. Project Governance System Development
Establish the enterprise project governance framework;
Define project management standards, processes, methodologies, and guidelines;
Build and manage the Project Management Office (PMO) structure;
Enhance the organization's project management maturity and execution capabilities.
III. Strategic Project Portfolio Management
Manage the enterprise's key strategic project portfolio;
Oversee major projects related to business transformation, digital initiatives, product development, and operational optimization;
Balance project priorities, resource allocation, and return on investment (ROI);
Ensure the project portfolio remains aligned with corporate strategy.
IV. Major Project Execution and Delivery Management
Lead the implementation of major enterprise-level projects;
Manage project scope, budget, schedule, risks, and quality;
Establish project monitoring mechanisms to ensure delivery according to plan;
Resolve critical issues arising during cross-departmental project execution.
V. Cross-Departmental Resource Coordination and Organizational Collaboration
Coordinate across departments such as operations, product, R&D, sales, marketing, finance, and human resources;
Drive project collaboration across business units;
Optimize enterprise resource allocation to improve project execution efficiency;
Establish efficient mechanisms for project communication and decision-making. VI. Project Risk Management and Quality Control
Establish systems for project risk identification, assessment, and control;
Monitor key project risks and interdependencies;
Define project quality management standards;
Enhance the stability of corporate project delivery.
VII. Project Digitalization and Management System Optimization
Drive the digital transformation of project management;
Develop project management platforms, data analytics systems, and management dashboards;
Optimize project management tools (e.g., PPM, ERP, collaboration platforms);
Improve project transparency and execution efficiency through data-driven insights.
VIII. Project Team Building and Leadership Development
Build an enterprise-level project management team;
Develop talent for roles such as Project Director, Project Manager, and PMO leader;
Foster a culture of project management excellence;
Enhance organizational execution capabilities and the ability to implement strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher;
Majors in Engineering Management, Project Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, Operations Management, or related fields;
MBA, Master’s in Project Management, or other advanced management education preferred;
Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2) preferred.
Work Experience
20+ years of experience in project management, corporate operations, strategy execution, or business transformation;
8–15+ years of experience in senior project management roles (e.g., VP PMO, Enterprise PMO Director, Program Director, Transformation Director);
Experience managing projects within large enterprises, multinational corporations, or complex organizations;
Experience managing enterprise-level transformation projects, digitalization initiatives, or large-scale investment projects.
