Shelar is a design-led start-up on a mission to build an Indian take on the accessible luxury handbag space. We create designs inspired by Indian elements that are perfectly functional and become part of the customer's everyday life.
Role Overview:
SHELAR is hiring a Video Editor (Fresher) to own the craft behind our short-form content. If you live on Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, obsess over cuts, transitions, and sound design, and want to build a portfolio with a fast-growing luxury brand this is your seat. You'll edit daily, learn on-set, and shape how SHELAR shows up on every feed.
Core Responsibilities:
- Editing (the core of the role): Cut short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts- punchy hooks, tight pacing, clean transitions, on-beat sound design, captions, and colour.
- On-Set Support: Assist with shoots- framing, lighting checks, and capturing B-roll so you have the raw material you need in the edit bay.
- Visual Consistency: Keep every frame on-brand; luxury aesthetic, consistent color grading, premium product placement.
- Hook & Retention Craft: Build edits around strong hooks and pacing that hold viewers through to the end.
- Trend Watching: Stay on top of trending audio, formats, and editing styles in the fashion and luxury space, and bring ideas to the table.
- Asset Management: Organise footage, maintain project files, and keep a clean library of clips, sounds, and templates.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Fresh graduate, student, or self-taught editor with a portfolio of Reels, Shorts, or edits you're proud of.
- Software Proficiency: Comfortable with Adobe Premiere Pro and CapCut. Familiarity with Submagic, After Effects, or generative AI editing tools is a plus.
- Sharp Editing Instincts: Strong sense of timing, rhythm, and pacing. You know why a cut works.
- Eye for Aesthetics: Understand luxury branding; clean, considered, never cluttered.
- Digital Native: Deep feel for what performs on short-form platforms and why.
- Portfolio over pedigree: Show us your best 3–5 edits. Taste and hustle matter more than marks.
