Position Overview
The Assistant Sales Manager – B2B Travel Sales will support the sales leadership team in driving business growth through travel agencies, corporate clients, tour operators, and other business partners. The role involves managing client relationships, assisting in sales strategy execution, supporting the sales team, and ensuring achievement of revenue targets across travel products and services.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication and sales skills, a good understanding of the travel industry, and the ability to manage client accounts while contributing to overall business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Support & Business Development
- Assist in implementing B2B sales strategies targeting travel agencies, corporate accounts, and business partners.
- Support the Sales Manager in achieving monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Identify potential business opportunities and generate new leads through networking, market research, and client outreach.
- Promote travel products including tour packages, hotel bookings, flights, transportation, and related services.
2. Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with travel agents, corporate clients, and key partners.
- Handle client inquiries, provide quotations, and ensure timely follow-up on business opportunities.
- Support contract discussions, pricing negotiations, and service agreements with clients.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through prompt issue resolution and professional communication.
3. Sales Operations & Coordination
- Assist in managing the complete sales cycle from lead generation to booking confirmation.
- Maintain accurate client records and sales activities in CRM systems.
- Coordinate with operations, reservations, and product teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Prepare proposals, presentations, itineraries, and customized travel solutions for clients.
4. Team Coordination & Reporting
- Support the Sales Manager in monitoring team performance and daily sales activities.
- Assist in training and guiding junior sales executives when required.
- Prepare sales reports, MIS reports, pipeline updates, and performance summaries for management.
- Track KPIs and contribute ideas to improve sales productivity.
5. Market Research & Competitor Analysis
- Stay updated on travel industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging destinations/products.
- Provide market feedback and customer insights to management for better business planning.
- Monitor pricing trends and promotional activities within the travel sector.
6. Promotions & Networking
- Participate in travel exhibitions, trade fairs, client meetings, and networking events.
- Coordinate with the marketing team for promotional campaigns and lead generation activities.
- Support special sales campaigns focused on corporate travel, group bookings, or seasonal offers.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field.
Experience
- 2–4 years of experience in B2B sales within the travel, tourism, or hospitality industry.
- Experience in handling travel agents, corporate clients, or B2B partnerships preferred.
- Basic understanding of contract negotiation and account management.
Sales & Technical Skills
- Knowledge of travel products, destinations, and travel industry operations.
- Familiarity with CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and travel booking systems.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Communication & Leadership
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build professional relationships.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
