Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Sales Manager role based in Hamirpur. The Assistant Sales Manager will support regional sales growth by managing distributor and retailer relationships, monitoring primary and secondary sales, and ensuring effective product placement and availability across the assigned territory. Responsibilities include planning and executing sales activities, tracking sales performance against targets, and reporting market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback. The role will coordinate with internal teams for inventory, promotions, and merchandising support, while ensuring compliance with company policies and pricing guidelines. The Assistant Sales Manager will also guide and support field sales representatives, promote Nippo and DORCO products, and help implement trade schemes and marketing initiatives at the ground level.
Qualifications
- Proven sales and field execution skills, including territory management, channel development, and target achievement.
- Strong relationship-management capabilities with distributors, retailers, and other trade partners.
- Sound analytical skills for tracking sales data, market trends, and competitor activities, with proficiency in basic MS Excel and reporting tools.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills to influence stakeholders and support brand visibility.
- Ability to plan and implement trade promotions, merchandising activities, and in-store execution to drive offtake.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, field-driven environment with regular market visits.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Prior experience in FMCG, consumer durables, or electrical/lighting categories, preferably in a similar sales or assistant manager role.
- Familiarity with the Hamirpur territory or surrounding region and willingness to travel within the assigned area as required.
