Role Description The Assistant Sales Manager role at Bajaj Finserv is a full-time, on-site position based in Guwahati. The Assistant Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving sales targets for assigned products, managing a defined territory or channel, and driving customer acquisition and retention. This role involves developing and maintaining relationships with customers, channel partners, and internal stakeholders to support business growth. Daily activities include meeting prospective clients, explaining product features and benefits, handling customer queries, and ensuring timely documentation and follow-up. The Assistant Sales Manager will also analyze local market trends, prepare basic sales reports, and support the implementation of sales campaigns and promotional activities while adhering to company policies and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong sales and business development skills, including lead generation, opportunity qualification, and closing deals.
- Customer relationship management capabilities, with the ability to understand customer needs and provide appropriate financial solutions.
- Basic financial and product understanding, preferably in lending, insurance, or related financial services.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse customer and partner groups.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple accounts, follow-ups, and reporting responsibilities.
- Ability to work toward targets in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and comfort with digital sales tools and CRM systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Prior experience in retail sales, financial services, or NBFC/banking sales is preferred but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates.
- Willingness to travel locally within Guwahati and nearby areas as required for client meetings and market visits.
