Role Description The Assistant Restaurant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at The Shalimar Hotel in Mumbai. This role is responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations, including supervising service staff, coordinating reservations, and ensuring a smooth and efficient guest experience. The individual will monitor guest feedback, address concerns promptly, and support initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and drive repeat business. Responsibilities include assisting with staff scheduling, training team members on service standards, maintaining hygiene and safety protocols, and working closely with the culinary team on menu execution and special promotions. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will also help manage inventories, support cost control, and contribute to the overall food and beverage strategy within the hotel.
Qualifications
- Strong focus on Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with the ability to handle guest interactions professionally and resolve issues effectively.
- Experience in Food & Beverage operations, including knowledge of restaurant service standards, menus, and basic F&B cost awareness.
- Effective Communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with team members, kitchen staff, and management clearly and respectfully.
- Experience with Hiring, onboarding, and supporting training of restaurant staff to maintain consistent service quality.
- Previous experience in restaurant or hotel operations, preferably in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and basic health and safety procedures.
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations.
