Role description:
The
Project Controls Manager – MEP is responsible for delivering robust
cost management and
project controls services across
real estate projects, ensuring
alignment with global/regional standards,
codes, and
processes. The role is part of the
Project Controls Team within the
Centre of Excellence (COE) team and supports capital management deliverables, process optimization, and collaboration with stakeholders to achieve project, commercial, and strategic objectives
Role accountabilities:
- Stakeholder Management: Act as a liaison between Project Controls, Capital Management, and cross-functional teams to align MEP deliverables, timelines, and ensure policy compliance at each Stage Gate.
- Project Controls Support: Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Risk, and Audit teams for strategy development, P&L analysis, project audits, and risk assessments at critical project milestones.
- Cost Management Expertise: Prepare and review cost estimates, contracts, reports, and change orders, ensuring alignment with project requirements, regional standards, and independent cost verification.
- Technical Proficiency: Utilize standardized COE MEP Project Controls tools, maintain awareness of global MEP trends, and analyze the impact of industry indices on capital projects.
- Process Optimization: Drive process improvements, contribute to global standardization initiatives, and support quality assurance to enhance governance and commercial efficiency.
- Team Leadership & Development: Provide performance updates, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and support talent development, training, and succession planning within the team.
- Effective Communication & Problem Solving: Demonstrate clear communication, strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and the ability to coach and motivate diverse teams.
- Time Management & Flexibility: Exhibit excellent time management, adaptability to work independently or within teams, and meticulous attention to detail in all deliverables.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying.
- 6+ years of experience in delivering MEP cost management, quantity surveying services for Real Estate projects (office fit-outs experience preferable),
- Good experience in pre-contract (cost planning, benchmarking, design validation, risk management) and post-contract (change control management, cost reporting, final accounts) stages of MEP services of Real Estate projects.
- Experience working in a global organization or COE or PMO (prior experience of working on Owner’s side is preferable).
- Knowledge of global construction/engineering practices, trends and cost indices.
- Experience of stakeholder management and collaboration with teams spread across 2-3 regions.
- Ability to manage and motivate assistant/junior team members in meeting functional objectives.
