Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Professor Optometry role based at the Shri Khushal Das University campus in Hanumangarh, Rajasthan. The Assistant Professor will deliver lectures, practical demonstrations, and tutorials in optometry and related subjects, ensuring alignment with the university’s curriculum and academic standards. Responsibilities include designing lesson plans, preparing teaching materials, supervising clinical and laboratory sessions, and guiding students in case-based learning and skill development. The role involves mentoring students, assessing performance through examinations and assignments, and providing academic counseling and support. The Assistant Professor will also engage in scholarly activities such as research, publication, curriculum enhancement, participation in departmental meetings, and contribution to university events and outreach initiatives.
Qualifications
- Advanced academic preparation in Optometry or Vision Science (e.g., Master’s or Doctoral degree in Optometry or a closely related field).
- Strong foundation in clinical optometry, including refraction, ocular disease management, contact lenses, low vision, and optical dispensing.
- Demonstrated teaching aptitude with the ability to deliver engaging lectures, facilitate practical sessions, and use modern instructional methods and educational technologies.
- Research-oriented mindset with interest in conducting studies, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and contributing to academic and clinical advances in optometry.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor diverse learners and collaborate with colleagues and clinical partners.
- Commitment to student-centered learning, ethical practice, and continuous professional development in optometry and higher education.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with relevant professional or regulatory bodies in optometry, where applicable.
- Prior teaching or clinical supervision experience in an academic or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
