Role Description This full-time on-site role is based at the Amity University campus in Hyderabad (Shamshabad). The Assistant Professor – Mathematics will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in mathematics and related areas, design and deliver lectures, tutorials, and assessments, and provide academic mentoring to students. Daily responsibilities include preparing course materials, conducting classroom and laboratory sessions, evaluating student performance, and maintaining accurate academic records. The role also involves contributing to curriculum development, engaging in research and scholarly activities, publishing in reputed journals, and participating in departmental meetings and university initiatives. The faculty member is expected to collaborate with colleagues on academic projects, support student activities, and uphold the university’s commitment to high-quality, inclusive education.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in core Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, with the ability to teach a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- Knowledge of related disciplines such as Physics and Statistics to support interdisciplinary teaching and research.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in Curriculum Development, including designing syllabi, assessments, and innovative teaching methods.
- Ph.D. in Mathematics from a recognized institution; a Ph.D. is preferred with min 4+ Years of teaching experience.
- Evidence of research activity, such as publications, conference presentations, or ongoing projects in mathematics or allied areas.
- Effective classroom management and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse learners and promote an inclusive environment.
- Commitment to academic integrity, student mentorship, and continuous professional development.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a department, contribute to institutional initiatives, and align with Amity University’s values and academic standards.
