The Assistant Professor – Finance will report directly to the Head of Academics and will work closely with the Dean, HoA, faculty members, Placement Cell, and other academic and administrative departments to ensure excellence in teaching, research, student mentoring, curriculum development, accreditation, and institutional initiatives.

Role Overview
The Assistant Professor – Finance will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, conducting impactful research, mentoring students, and contributing to curriculum development and institutional growth. The ideal candidate should possess strong academic credentials, rich industry and/or teaching experience, and an excellent research profile with publications in reputed journals.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Academic Delivery
- Teach undergraduate, postgraduate, and management courses in Finance.
- Deliver subjects such as Financial Management, Investment Analysis, Corporate Finance, Financial Markets, Security Analysis, Banking, Financial Modelling, International Finance, Risk Management, FinTech, and related areas.
- Develop innovative teaching methodologies using case studies, simulations, business analytics, and experiential learning.
- Design course plans, lesson plans, assessments, and learning materials aligned with outcome-based education.
- Evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, presentations, quizzes, and examinations.
Research & Publications
- Conduct high-quality research in Finance and allied disciplines.
- Publish research papers in Scopus, ABDC, Web of Science, or UGC-CARE listed journals.
- Present research at national and international conferences.
- Apply for funded research projects, consultancy assignments, and industry collaborations.
- Guide students in research projects, dissertations, and case writing.
Student Mentoring
- Mentor students for academic excellence, internships, placements, and career development.
- Supervise live projects, capstone projects, and research activities.
- Encourage participation in finance clubs, competitions, and certifications such as CFA, FRM, NISM, and NCFM.
Curriculum & Academic Development
- Contribute to curriculum design and periodic revision in line with industry trends.
- Introduce emerging areas such as FinTech, ESG Investing, AI in Finance, Blockchain, Digital Banking, and Financial Analytics.
- Participate in accreditation activities (NBA, NAAC, AACSB, etc.) and quality assurance initiatives.
Institutional Responsibilities
- Organize Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), Management Development Programmes (MDPs), seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and conferences.
- Participate in admissions, student engagement, placement support, and institutional committees.
- Build industry partnerships for internships, projects, and executive education.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Finance from a recognized university (completed or submitted as per regulatory norms).
- Master's degree (MBA/PGDM/M.Com.) with specialization in Finance and an excellent academic record.
- NET qualification is desirable where applicable.
Experience
- 5–10 years of teaching and/or industry experience in Finance.
- Proven ability to teach management students using contemporary pedagogical approaches.
- Experience in curriculum development and academic administration will be an added advantage.
Research Profile
The candidate should possess:
- A strong publication record with multiple research papers in Scopus, ABDC, Web of Science, or UGC-CARE indexed journals.
- Experience presenting papers at reputed national and international conferences.
- Ability to undertake interdisciplinary and industry-relevant research.
- Experience in research grants, consultancy, or funded projects will be preferred.
Desired Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
- Proficiency in financial databases and software such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, SPSS, R, Python, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, EViews, or Stata.
- Knowledge of Financial Analytics, Business Intelligence, and AI applications in Finance.
- Strong interpersonal, mentoring, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary academic teams.
