Role Description This full-time on-site role, based in Jalandhar, is for an Assistant Professor of English. The role involves teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in English language and literature, delivering lectures, seminars, and tutorials, and evaluating student performance through assignments, examinations, and projects. The Assistant Professor will participate in curriculum design and development, prepare course materials and assessment tools, and maintain updated knowledge in the field of English studies. Responsibilities also include mentoring students, contributing to academic research and publications where applicable, engaging in departmental and institutional activities, and supporting accreditation and quality assurance processes.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong English Teaching and Teaching skills applicable to undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Candidates should possess expertise in English Literature and Literature, with the ability to teach a range of literary genres and periods.
- Candidates should possess skills in Curriculum Development to design, review, and update course syllabi and teaching materials.
- A master’s degree or Ph.D. in English or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage diverse learners in the classroom.
- Experience with academic research, publications, and participation in conferences will be an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary academic environment and contribute to institutional initiatives.
