Role Description This full-time, on-site Assistant Professor of English role is based at CT Group of Institutions in Jalandhar. The Assistant Professor will teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in English and English Literature, delivering engaging lectures, seminars, and tutorials. Responsibilities include designing and updating course content, preparing lesson plans, developing assessments, and evaluating student performance in a fair and transparent manner. The role involves guiding students in academic writing, language skills, and literary analysis, as well as mentoring them on projects and research activities. The faculty member will participate in departmental meetings, curriculum review, academic events, and quality enhancement initiatives, and may contribute to scholarly research and publications.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in English Literature and related literary studies, with the ability to teach a range of genres and periods.
- Proficiency in English Teaching and Teaching methodologies, including classroom management and student-centered learning.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in Curriculum Development for English and language-related courses.
- Advanced degree in English, English Literature, or a closely related field (Master’s required; Ph.D. or enrollment in a doctoral program preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to teach learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Capacity to use educational technology and learning management systems to support teaching and assessment.
- Commitment to academic integrity, student mentoring, and continuous professional development.
- Prior higher education teaching experience and a record of research, publications, or conference participation will be an advantage.
