Role Description The Assistant Professor of Computer Science will be responsible for delivering high-quality lectures, tutorials, and lab sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate students, in alignment with departmental academic standards. The role includes designing and updating course curricula, guiding student projects, mentoring learners, and supporting academic advising. The faculty member will engage in research activities, publish scholarly work, participate in conferences, and contribute to funded projects in relevant areas of computer science. Responsibilities also involve participating in departmental meetings, academic committees, and university initiatives, as well as supporting outreach, industry collaboration, and accreditation efforts. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Amity University’s Ranchi campus.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in core Computer Science concepts, including algorithms, data structures, software engineering, and systems.
- Expertise in Curriculum Development for computer science programs, with experience designing syllabi, assessments, and experiential learning activities.
- Applied knowledge in Data Science, including data analysis, machine learning fundamentals, and related tools or frameworks.
- Specialization or substantial experience in Cybersecurity, such as network security, secure coding practices, and information security principles.
- Proficiency in Programming, with the ability to teach one or more modern languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, or similar) and guide coding projects.
- Relevant academic qualifications, typically a Ph.D. or at least a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Demonstrated research output through publications, conference presentations, or industry collaborations in computer science or allied fields.
- Effective teaching, communication, and classroom management skills, with a student-centered and inclusive approach to learning.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse academic community and contribute to departmental growth and institutional initiatives.
