Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Amity University Ranchi, Jharkhand, under Amity University Patna. The Assistant Professor will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in core Computer Science and related areas, develop and update course curricula, and design assessments aligned with program outcomes. Daily responsibilities include preparing and delivering lectures, conducting tutorials and lab sessions, mentoring and advising students, and supervising projects or dissertations. The role involves engaging in research and scholarly activities, publishing in reputable journals or conferences, and contributing to grant proposals where appropriate. The Assistant Professor will also participate in departmental meetings, accreditation or quality initiatives, outreach activities, and other academic or administrative duties assigned by the department or university.
Qualifications
- Strong subject-matter expertise in Computer Science, with the ability to teach core foundational and advanced topics.
- Demonstrated ability in Curriculum Development, including designing syllabi, learning outcomes, assessments, and lab components.
- Knowledge and teaching or research experience in Data Science, including analytics, machine learning, or related fields.
- Knowledge and teaching or research experience in Cybersecurity, such as network security, information assurance, or ethical hacking.
- Proficiency in Programming, with experience in one or more widely used languages (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++, JavaScript) and related tools.
- Relevant academic qualifications, typically a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field from a recognized institution; a PhD in Computer Science or related discipline is strongly preferred.
- Evidence of research potential or output, such as publications, conference presentations, or ongoing research projects.
- Effective communication and classroom management skills, with a student-centric approach to teaching and mentoring.
- Ability to use educational technologies and learning management systems to support teaching and evaluation.
- Commitment to ethical academic practices, teamwork, and active participation in departmental and institutional development.
