Role Description The Assistant Professor of Computer Science is a full-time, on-site role based in the Kolkata metropolitan area. The role involves designing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate computer science courses, conducting lectures, labs, tutorials, and mentoring students on academic and research projects. The Assistant Professor will contribute to curriculum development, integrate industry-relevant practices, and participate in departmental activities such as seminars, conferences, and academic committees. Responsibilities include engaging in research, publishing in reputable journals, seeking funded projects, and collaborating with colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives. The role also entails advising students, supporting placements, maintaining high standards of academic integrity, and contributing to the overall academic community at Amity University.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in core Computer Science concepts and their application in teaching and research.
- Ability to design and update course materials through effective Curriculum Development aligned with industry and academic standards.
- Expertise in Programming (such as Python, Java, C/C++, or similar languages) with experience in teaching coding and software development practices.
- Knowledge and teaching or research experience in Data Science, including data analysis, machine learning, or related areas.
- Understanding of Cybersecurity principles, tools, and best practices, with the ability to integrate them into course content where relevant.
- Ph.D. in Computer Science.
- Demonstrated record or strong potential in research, publications, and participation in conferences or academic forums.
- Effective communication, presentation, and classroom management skills, with the ability to engage a diverse student body.
