Role Description The Assistant Professor of Computer Applications will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in areas such as programming, computer science fundamentals, and information technology. Responsibilities include designing and updating course curricula, preparing lesson plans and teaching materials, delivering lectures, conducting practical lab sessions, and evaluating student performance through assignments, projects, and examinations. The role involves mentoring students, guiding academic projects, participating in departmental meetings, contributing to academic research or industry-oriented initiatives, and supporting accreditation and quality assurance activities. This is a full-time, on-site role based at ISM Patna, requiring regular presence on campus and active involvement in institutional activities.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in computer science and information technology, with the ability to teach core concepts effectively.
- Proficiency in programming and related applied areas, with experience in at least one modern programming language.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices relevant to computer applications and system security.
- Experience in curriculum development, including designing syllabi, learning outcomes, and assessment methods.
- Postgraduate degree (e.g., MCA, M.Tech, M.Sc. in Computer Science/IT) from a recognized institution; Ph.D. or enrollment in a doctoral program is an advantage.
- Prior teaching or academic experience at the college or university level preferred; industry experience in IT or software development is beneficial.
- Effective communication skills, classroom management abilities, and a learner-centered teaching approach.
- Commitment to continuous professional development, research, and participation in academic committees and institutional initiatives.
