About the RoleSir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU) is seeking a passionate and research-oriented Assistant Professor in Biotechnology (Bioinformatics) to join its Department of Biotechnology. The ideal candidate will have expertise in computational biology and bioinformatics, with a strong commitment to teaching, research, innovation, and industry collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Bioinformatics and Biotechnology.
- Develop and deliver laboratory and computational practicals.
- Conduct high-quality research and publish in reputed Scopus/Web of Science indexed journals.
- Guide B.Tech., M.Tech., M.Sc., and Ph.D. students in research and dissertation work.
- Develop research proposals and secure external funding.
- Establish collaborations with industry, research organizations, and academic institutions.
- Participate in curriculum development aligned with NEP 2020.
- Support accreditation activities (NAAC, NBA, NIRF) and departmental administration.
- Organize workshops, FDPs, seminars, and technical events.
Required Qualifications- Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Computational Biology, Life Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
- First Class or equivalent at Bachelor’s and Master’s level.
- Qualifications as per UGC/AICTE norms.

- Bioinformatics tools: BLAST, Clustal Omega, MEGA, Cytoscape, Galaxy, Bioconductor
- Programming: Python, R, Perl, Bash
- Linux-based computational environments and High-Performance Computing (HPC)
Preferred Experience- Teaching and research experience in Bioinformatics or Computational Biology.
- Strong publication record in Scopus/Web of Science-indexed journals.
- Experience in funded research projects, patents, consultancy, or industry collaborations will be an added advantage.
