Role Description The Assistant Professor CSE role is a full-time, on-site position located at Bearys Institute of Technology in Mangaluru. The role involves delivering undergraduate courses in Computer Science and Engineering, preparing and updating lesson plans, and conducting lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions. The Assistant Professor will evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and projects, and provide regular academic guidance and mentoring. Day-to-day responsibilities also include participating in curriculum development, engaging in research or scholarly activities, contributing to department meetings and institutional committees, and supporting co-curricular and academic events.
Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree (M.Tech/M.E or equivalent) in Computer Science and Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognized university; Ph.D. in CSE or ongoing doctoral work is preferred.
- Strong foundation in core Computer Science areas such as data structures, algorithms, operating systems, computer networks, databases, and programming languages.
- Ability to design and deliver clear, structured lectures and lab sessions, with skills in lesson planning, student assessment, and academic mentoring.
- Experience or interest in research, publishing in academic journals or conferences, and guiding student projects in emerging areas of CSE.
- Proficiency with common educational and productivity tools (e.g., learning management systems, presentation tools, coding environments) and willingness to adopt new teaching technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical academic practices, continuous professional development, and contribution to departmental and institutional activities.
- Prior teaching or industry experience in Computer Science and Engineering is an advantage but not mandatory for highly motivated early-career academics.
