Role Description The Assistant Professor will be a full-time, on-site faculty member based in Rohtak, responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses in their area of specialization. Daily responsibilities include preparing and delivering lectures, conducting laboratory or tutorial sessions as applicable, designing assessments, grading assignments and exams, and providing academic advising to students. The role involves developing and updating course materials, participating in curriculum planning, and engaging in scholarly activities such as research, publications, or conference presentations. The Assistant Professor will also contribute to departmental meetings, student mentoring, and science outreach or club activities aligned with Vigyanam The Science Club’s mission.
Qualifications
- Advanced academic qualification (preferably a PhD or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline; a master’s degree with strong academic record may be considered.
- Demonstrated teaching ability, including experience delivering lectures, facilitating discussions, and guiding laboratory or project-based learning.
- Evidence of research aptitude, such as published work, ongoing projects, or participation in academic conferences and seminars.
- Strong communication, presentation, and academic writing skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly.
- Commitment to inclusive, student-centered pedagogy and the ability to support learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle course planning, grading, and departmental responsibilities efficiently.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, club activities, and interdisciplinary initiatives.
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools for teaching, assessment, and student engagement.
- Ethical professional conduct and willingness to contribute to the institutional culture of academic integrity and continuous improvement.
