Company Description Meenakshi College of Engineering, established in 2001–2002 by the Meenakshi Ammal Trust in Chennai, is affiliated with Anna University and approved by AICTE. Role Description The Assistant Professor role is a full-time, on-site position based at Meenakshi College of Engineering in Chennai. The selected candidate will teach undergraduate and, where applicable, postgraduate courses, prepare lesson plans, deliver lectures, and conduct tutorials, labs, and assessments in their area of specialization. Daily responsibilities include guiding students academically, evaluating assignments and examinations, maintaining accurate academic records, and offering mentoring and academic advising. The role also involves engaging in curriculum development, participating in departmental and committee meetings, contributing to accreditation and quality initiatives, and supporting the college’s vision for excellence in technical education. In addition, the Assistant Professor is expected to pursue scholarly activities such as research, publications, and participation in conferences or workshops, and to contribute to outreach and co-curricular activities.
Qualifications
- Relevant postgraduate degree (e.g., M.E., M.Tech., M.Sc., or equivalent) in the appropriate engineering or related discipline from a recognized university; Ph.D. or ongoing doctoral work is preferred.
- Strong foundation in subject-area knowledge and the ability to design and deliver clear, structured courses aligned with Anna University and AICTE standards.
- Demonstrated teaching aptitude, including classroom management, student engagement, and effective use of instructional methods and educational technologies.
- Research-oriented mindset with interest in publishing, participating in conferences, and contributing to funded projects, innovation, or laboratory development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to learners with diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues, work constructively within departments and committees, and contribute to academic and administrative responsibilities.
- Commitment to ethical practices, student welfare, inclusive learning environments, and continuous professional development.
- Prior teaching or industry experience in relevant technical domains is an advantage, as is familiarity with outcome-based education and accreditation processes.
