Company Description
The Information Technology (IT) Department at RNGPIT was established in 2022 and offers a Bachelor of Engineering in IT, with specializations in AI/ML, Data Science, and Cyber Security. RNGPIT is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University, accredited by AICTE, and holds Autonomous Institute status under the UGC Act of 1956. The department emphasizes industry collaborations with partners such as AWS Academy, SAP CoE, Tata Strive, and Edunet to deliver practical skills and training. Students have access to high-quality learning opportunities, including internships and training programs with global leaders like Microsoft, Google, and Nasscom. The department also offers a vocational B. Voc. Software Development program, which includes 1,200 hours of mandatory On-the-Job Training (OJT) conducted by industry experts.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Professor in the IT Department at RNGPIT, located in Surat. The Assistant Professor will deliver lectures, develop and update curriculum, and guide students in coursework and research projects. Responsibilities also include mentoring students, conducting assessments, engaging in academic research, and contributing to departmental initiatives. Active participation in seminars, workshops, and industry collaborations is also expected.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of core IT subjects, including AI/ML, Data Science, Cyber Security, and Software Development
- Proficiency in educational methodologies such as curriculum development, student mentoring, and evaluation
- Skills in academic research, technical writing, and project guidance
- Familiarity with modern teaching tools and platforms, including online learning technologies
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- A master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (PhD preferred)
- Experience with industry collaboration or exposure to specialized certifications is a plus
