Job Description – Assistant Professor (Medical Physiology)
Position: Assistant Professor – Medical Physiology
Department: Physiology (Pre-Clinical)
Organization: Dr. N. Y. Tasgaonkar Institute of Medical Science, Karjat, Raigad, Maharashtra
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate (MBBS) teaching in Physiology through lectures, practicals, tutorials, and demonstrations.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and student assessment tools.
- Conduct internal assessments, examinations, and evaluation of answer scripts.
- Guide students in academic and research activities.
- Participate in departmental research, publications, and academic projects.
- Maintain departmental records and documentation as per NMC and MUHS guidelines.
- Assist in curriculum development and implementation of competency-based medical education (CBME).
- Participate in faculty development programs, CMEs, workshops, and conferences.
- Contribute to institutional committees, inspections, accreditation, and quality initiatives.
- Perform any other academic or administrative duties assigned by the Head of Department or Dean.
Qualification
- MD in Physiology / MD (Medical Physiology) recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
- Registration with the State Medical Council/NMC as applicable.
Experience
- As per the latest NMC Teachers Eligibility Qualifications (TEQ) Regulations.
