Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Professor – Fashion Design, based in Kolkata. The individual in this role will be responsible for conducting lectures and practical sessions, guiding students through industry-relevant projects, and maintaining an updated curriculum in line with industry standards. Additional responsibilities include mentoring students, participating in research initiatives, and contributing to departmental and institutional development. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in fashion hand illustration, along with a thorough understanding of fashion design, industry trends, and fashion history.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Fashion Design, including Guide and mentor students in hand illustration and design development
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other industry-standard tools
- Ability to deliver engaging and interactive lectures, with excellent communication and teaching skills
- Experience in curriculum design, project guidance, and assessment methodologies
- Knowledge of current trends and innovations in the fashion industry
- Ability to conduct and contribute to academic research and publications
- Master’s degree (or higher) in Fashion Design or a related field; UGC NET qualification or equivalent is an advantage
- Professional experience in the fashion industry and demonstrated ability to inspire and mentor students
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative learning environment
