Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Production Manager to lead plant operations and drive process optimization, yield improvement, and cost efficiency across mint derivative manufacturing.
This role requires strong technical expertise in fractional distillation and downstream processing, along with the ability to enhance productivity, reduce losses, and develop improved extraction and recovery processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee end-to-end production, planning, and plant performance
• Improve yield, recovery, and consistency; reduce losses and wastage
• Optimize fractional distillation processes
• Develop methods to extract additional value-added products and the recovery of minor components
• Collaborate with QA/QC for process standardization and scale-up
• Drive reduction in cost, energy consumption, and cycle time
• Ensure compliance with FSSC, ISO, GMP and maintain SOPs/audit readiness
• Lead plant teams, enforce safety standards, and drive continuous improvement
Key Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
• Additional certifications in process optimization / Six Sigma are a plus
• 10+ years of experience in mint, essential oil, aroma chemical, chemical or similar industries
• Strong expertise in fractional distillation with a special focus on continuous processing
• Proven track record of process optimization and yield improvement
• Experience in developing new extraction or recovery processes
• Hands-on experience with plant-scale operations and troubleshooting
• Ability to interpret GC data and translate it into process improvements
• Hands-on approach with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in managing plant teams and shop-floor operations
