Role Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Procurement Manager to support and manage day-to-day procurement operations across the organization. This role involves assisting in strategic sourcing, vendor management, cost optimization, and ensuring the timely availability of materials and services to support business functions efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
• Support end-to-end procurement across categories including lab consumables, equipment, services, and indirect materials.
• Assist in implementing procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors while supporting negotiations and rate finalization.
• Ensure cost optimization while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders for demand planning and inventory management.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders, contracts, and SLAs.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, compliance requirements, and audit standards.
• Track procurement KPIs and assist in preparing MIS reports for management.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and support supplier performance tracking.
• Collaborate with operations, finance, and other departments for seamless procurement processes.
Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
• Good understanding of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and vendor management.
• Familiarity with inventory management tools.
• Basic knowledge of contracts, compliance, and cost control.
Business Skills
• Ability to support strategic sourcing and cost optimization initiatives.
• Experience handling multiple procurement categories is preferred.
Soft Skills
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail with strong ownership mindset.
Key Deliverables
• Timely procurement support across all categories.
• Efficient vendor coordination and improved supplier performance.
• Support in reducing procurement costs while maintaining quality standards.
• Smooth coordination between internal stakeholders and vendors.
Preferred Profile
• 3–6 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
• Prior experience in diagnostics/healthcare is preferred.
• Basic to intermediate vendor negotiation and contract management exposure.
• Experience supporting multi-location or pan-India procurement operations is a plus.
