Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Merchandiser role based in Kanpur Nagar. The Assistant Merchandiser will support the merchandising team in planning, selecting, and tracking textile and fashion product ranges across categories. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with suppliers and internal teams, monitoring inventory levels, assisting with purchase orders, and following up on sample development and approvals. The role will also involve preparing basic sales and performance reports, supporting pricing and promotion decisions, and ensuring product information is accurate and up to date. The Assistant Merchandiser will regularly assist with showroom preparation, customer visits, and retail or e-commerce merchandising activities to align products with market trends and customer needs.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written interaction with suppliers, internal teams, and customers.
- Customer Service skills to understand buyer requirements, handle queries professionally, and support long-term relationships.
- Sales and Retail exposure to assist in assortment planning, store or showroom presentations, and basic sales analysis.
- Marketing awareness to support promotional activities, product positioning, and visual merchandising initiatives.
- Basic understanding or interest in textiles, fabrics, or fashion merchandising.
- Proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel) and comfort working with inventory or order management systems.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Relevant diploma or bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Fashion, Textiles, Business, or a related field preferred.
