Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for an Assistant Managing Editor. The successful candidate will oversee editorial workflows, coordinate peer review processes, communicate with authors and reviewers, and ensure adherence to publication timelines and quality standards. Responsibilities include maintaining editorial consistency, collaborating with internal teams, contributing to content development strategies, and addressing inquiries related to submissions or publications.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in content editing, proofreading, and writing for academic or scholarly publications
- Experience with managing editorial workflows, peer review processes, and publication timelines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate with global teams of reviewers, authors, and editors
- Familiarity with academic publishing standards, ethical guidelines, and research integrity practices
- Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines efficiently
- Comfort working remotely with the ability to self-motivate and operate independently
- Experience in open access publishing or emerging research areas such as AI, quantum biology, or interdisciplinary sciences is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a STEM field; advanced degrees in a relevant discipline are preferred
