Assistant Manager – Warehouse & Logistics | KolkataJob Description
- Oversee end-to-end warehouse operations including inbound, storage, and dispatch
- Ensure accurate inventory management and maintain optimal stock levels
- Plan and execute daily dispatches to ensure timely and cost-efficient deliveries
- Maintain proper documentation for all warehouse and logistics transactions
- Conduct periodic inventory audits and reconcile physical vs system stock
- Coordinate with transporters, vendors, and internal stakeholders for smooth operations
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, SOPs, and regulatory compliance
- Monitor key warehouse KPIs such as TAT, order accuracy, and inventory variance
- Supervise and manage warehouse staff, ensuring productivity and discipline
- Resolve operational issues related to delays, damages, or discrepancies
- Support implementation and effective use of WMS/ERP systems
Skills & Experience Required
- 7–8 years of experience in warehouse and logistics, preferably in the FMCG sector
- Strong understanding of inventory control, distribution, and supply chain processes
- Experience in handling high-volume, fast-moving SKUs
- Proficiency in WMS/ERP systems (SAP preferred) and MS Excel
- Ability to manage 3PL vendors and logistics partners
- Knowledge of warehouse optimization, space utilization, and process efficiency
- Familiarity with safety, compliance, and audit requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a cost optimization mindset
- Proven team handling and leadership capabilities
- Effective communication and cross-functional coordination skills
