Role Description
Entire gamut of transfer pricing – Advisory, Compliance and Litigation
Key Result Areas:
1. Operational: Ensure 100% accurate and timely delivery thereby managing the projects effectively
a) Independently Manage Transfer Pricing Engagements: Deliver end-to-end execution of Transfer Pricing assignments, including audits, documentation (Form 3CEB), and policy formulation, ensuring 100% compliance, accuracy, and client satisfaction.
b) Drive Successful Assessment and Appeal Outcomes: Independently represent clients in Transfer Pricing assessments and appeals, under guidance of seniors aiming for favorable resolutions, reduced adjustments, and minimized litigation exposure through strong technical positions and strategic advocacy.
c) Lead Advisory and Opinion Services: Manage the advisory function of Transfer Pricing by delivering actionable, technically sound opinions that enable clients to make informed decisions and remain compliant with evolving regulations
d) Develop and Deliver Strategic Presentations: Create impactful presentations on Transfer Pricing matters for client discussions, internal training, and knowledge-sharing sessions, enhancing client understanding and internal capability
e) Contribute to Thought Leadership: Support the development of firm-wide visibility and credibility by contributing to high-quality articles and presentations on Transfer Pricing trends, cases, and regulatory updates.
f) Foster Knowledge Sharing and Capability Building: Stay abreast of global and domestic Transfer Pricing developments and actively share insights within the team to foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
g) Proficiency in Business Tools:
· Demonstrate working excellence in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint including external databases such as Prowess, TP Catalyst, Loan Connector and RoyaltyStat.
· Identify AI tools and arrange for demo and discuss with the leaders within the team on the efficiency which the tools would generate and assist in developing a business case for the same.
· Participate actively in the tech projects undertaken by the practice and contribute effectively in a timely manner.
2. Project Management
a) Ensure effective project management and demonstrate complete control on its set of clients
b) Ensure timely and effective communication to client emails within 24 hours.
c) Timely review the projects and inform seniors of any escalations and deviations.
d) Lead coordination among internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of TP engagements and strengthen cross-functional collaboration within the practice.
3. Effective Team Management
a) Mentor 1–3 junior team members, leading to measurable improvement in their performance (e.g., fewer review comments, quicker turnaround).
b) Deliver at least 1 internal training session per quarter to strengthen technical capability within the team.
c) Proactively circulate regular updates with their set of clients impacting the clients TP matters, enhancing thought leadership.
Required Competencies, Skills, and Experience
1. Entire gamut of transfer pricing – Advisory, Compliance and Litigation
2. Should have independently handled transfer pricing or tax assessments / scrutiny
3. Client facing role
4. Advanced understanding of TP principles
5. Good analytical and communication skills, Good Drafting skills, Good with reading of financial reports, etc
