Position Overview
To work with the Pune
Supply Chain function to minimize the Pune overall purchasing costs without compromising the quality or reliability of supply.
To Plan, direct, and monitor all
Supply Chain activities so that the goods, materials, supplies, and services the Pune plant buys meet its standards of price, quality, timing, and supply reliability.
To Plan, direct, and monitor all
materials (Direct & Indirect) planning, inventory control, storage, shipping, and receiving activities so that the Pune plant has access to the inputs, materials, goods, and services it needs for its current and future operations

Main Tasks And Responsibilities
- To ensure the right quantity, right quality, right time, and at optimum cost materials in the overall value stream
- Handle the volume of 3,000 parts through his team of buyers at the Pune Plant, focusing on buying critical parts independently.
- Supervising, monitoring, and guiding stores and logistics functions to handle 6K – 8K parts.
- Undertake supplier performance evaluation and take corrective action for improvement
- Long Term Contracts with service providers.
- Proactive measures to de-bottleneck constraints for improving delivery rating and inventory levels and can work on inventory control actions and management from the buyer and store side.
- Look after direct and indirect purchases to ensure maintenance of optimum stocks of running items, quick response at optimum cost to one-time purchase requests, and yearly cost reduction on running items.
- Who can see the import items and generate schedules based on systems and make-to-order plans?
- Can take care of commodities like fabrication, casting, hoses, and cylinders.
- Can work with teams at the floor and stores to address material shortage issues
- Negotiate and develop alternate suppliers on his own against poor suppliers list.
- Supplier Performance Management based on Delivery.
- Led domestic & imported parts procurement cycle for the Pune plant
- Timely communication to suppliers regarding the long-term planning to create capacity & prepare the risk mitigation plan for gaps in the supply chain.
- Co-ordinate with the central team for effective functioning of Pune SCM.
- Alignment for costing with the central procurement team for the new development parts / regular items, if any engineering change has occurred.
- Timely reconciliation of 57F4 as well as account reconciliation of suppliers.
- Implement adequate & advanced material handling in the Pune plant
- Deploy & monitor the store activity to reduce pick-up time, improve identification, and reduce variance.
- 100% system compliance to ISO & Global Purchasing/SCM Policies
- Can take of Spare parts items scheduling and follow up with suppliers to meet deadlines.

Position Requirements
- Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering (DME/BE)
- 5–8 years of experience in Supply Chain / Procurement / Operation
- Strong experience in vendor management, inventory control, and procurement
- Exposure to manufacturing environment (fabrication, casting, hoses, cylinders)
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage high-volume operations
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in handling imported components and supply planning
