Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented SCM Assistant Manager – Solar EPC to manage end-to-end supply chain operations for solar EPC projects. The role involves strategic procurement planning, vendor management, contract negotiations, and logistics coordination to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of critical solar components. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of solar technologies, EPC contracts, and supplier ecosystems, with the ability to manage complex procurement cycles and support project execution under tight deadlines.
Key Procurement Categories
Solar Modules: Procurement of high-efficiency photovoltaic modules from domestic and international suppliers.
Inverters: Sourcing of central and string inverters aligned with project technical specifications.
Mounting Structures: Procurement of module mounting structures and tracking systems.
Balance of System (BOS) Components: Cables, connectors, combiner boxes, SCADA systems, and related electrical components.
Logistics & Project Delivery: Coordination for transportation, customs clearance (if applicable), and delivery to project sites.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement Planning:
Develop and implement sourcing strategies for solar modules, inverters, mounting structures, cables, and other BOS components to ensure cost efficiency and timely delivery.
Vendor Sourcing & Contract Negotiation
Lead tendering processes, evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate commercial and technical terms, and finalize contracts with vendors and service providers.
Supplier Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers to ensure reliable supply, competitive pricing, and long-term partnerships.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with project management, engineering, finance, and logistics teams to forecast procurement requirements, budgets, and delivery timelines.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, project specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
Vendor Evaluation & Performance Monitoring
Establish vendor evaluation mechanisms, track supplier performance, and drive continuous improvement in supplier quality, delivery, and service.
Risk Management
Identify potential supply chain risks and develop alternate sourcing strategies and contingency plans to avoid project delays.
Procurement Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, reports, and documentation for audits, internal tracking, and management review.
Market Intelligence
Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging technologies within the solar EPC sector to optimize sourcing strategies.
Logistics Coordination
Support logistics planning, customs clearance (for imports), and delivery coordination to ensure timely availability of materials at project sites.
Education
Qualification & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required; an MBA in Supply Chain / Operations Management is preferred.
Experience
5–7 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 2 years in the solar EPC sector.
Technical Expertise
Strong understanding of solar technologies, EPC contracts, procurement cycles, and domestic/international supplier markets.
Negotiation & Vendor Management
Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts, manage vendor relationships, and secure cost-effective procurement deals.
Analytical & Operational Skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills with proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office tools.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight project deadlines.
