This isn't a desk-only role, though — you'll be out meeting clients and sitting across the table at MERC, MSETCL and MEDA when the work calls for it. We need someone who takes ownership without being told, in the office and in the field.
What we do
Solarian is a renewable energy consulting firm. Regulatory depth meets technical depth — in one firm.
We take solar, wind and hybrid projects from pre-bid to charging: feasibility, statutory and regulatory clearances, CTU & RLDC coordination, captive and open-access structuring, and EPC advisory — across our three practices (IPP, EPC and C&I).
In Maharashtra, that means living inside the world of MERC, MEDA and MSETCL — and turning regulatory complexity into approvals that hold up.
The role
You'll be our Regulatory Specialist — the person who owns the approval lifecycle of renewable and power projects, and the client relationships that ride on it. Statutory clearances, open access, captive and group captive rules, CTU & RLDC coordination, policy interpretation. Some of this you'll know; the rest we'll teach you.
The twist: we want you to do this like it's 2026. That means using AI to handle the repetitive layer — research, drafting, tracking, summarising — so your judgment goes to the work that actually needs a human.
What "done" looks like (your KRAs)
→ Track and manage regulatory approvals and statutory clearances across central and Maharashtra bodies (MERC, MEDA, MSETCL, CEIG, and others)
→ Own client requirements end to end — understand the brief, manage expectations, and keep the project moving
→ Visit client offices and sites, and represent Solarian at MERC, MSETCL and MEDA offices as the work requires
→ Research and interpret policy, regulations and clearance requirements, and flag shifts before they become problems
→ Build and run AI-driven workflows to automate the repetitive regulatory work — the more you automate, the more valuable you are
→ Prepare clean applications, notes and status trackers that hold up to scrutiny
→ Support open-access and captive-power structuring with audit-proof documentation
Basic qualifications
→ BE / BTech — non-negotiable; we hold the technical bar high
→ Minimum 1 year in the renewable or power sector
→ Fluent in Marathi — मराठी आलीच पाहिजे — you'll be working across Maharashtra's ecosystem
→ Comfortable using AI tools, or a clear drive to learn and automate repetitive work
→ Willing to travel to client and regulator offices within Maharashtra as needed
Who you are
→ Gen Z, and it shows. We want a native digital brain and fresh energy.
→ You know renewables. A year of real exposure, and enough grounding to operate without hand-holding. Regulatory expertise is a bonus, not a barrier — we'll teach you that side.
→ You're AI-native or AI-hungry. Either you already automate your work with AI models, or you're determined to learn. Show us you can make a machine do the boring part.
→ You're client-ready. Comfortable managing requirements, walking into a client's office, and holding your own in a regulator's.
→ You're an owner, not a clock-puncher. The freedom we offer only works with people who show up in substance — at the desk and in the field.
