Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager – Purchase for our Head Office to
manage day-to-day procurement operations. You will be responsible for end-to-end supply chain
activities, including vendor management, techno-commercial evaluation, and stakeholder
coordination.
Key Responsibilities
● Procurement Management: Execute timely procurement of materials based on priority,
including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic items, and raw materials.
● Vendor Operations: Handle vendor negotiation, development, and performance
evaluation to achieve cost savings.
● Order Processing: Create and process Purchase Orders (POs) with precise
specifications and manage advance payments and follow-ups.
● Market Intelligence: Conduct market research and surveys to identify cost-saving
opportunities and maintain material samples/records.
● Coordination & Reporting: Act as a link between Plant User Teams and HO Purchase
Teams, preparing MIS reports and structured Minutes of Meetings (MoMs).
● Specialized Procurement: Manage project purchases, plant machinery, capital goods,
and import procurement documentation.
Required Skills & Competencies
● Technical Expertise: Sound knowledge of procurement for industrial items and import
documentation.
● Negotiation & Analysis: Strong negotiation, vendor management, and data-driven
decision-making abilities.
● Operational Efficiency: Proficiency in MIS reporting, supply chain monitoring, and
maintaining a PO cycle time of 4–6 days.
● Communication: Effective interpersonal skills for cross-departmental coordination and
team supervision.
Qualifications
● Experience: 5–7 years of relevant experience in Purchase or Supply Chain.
● Education: Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Civil Engineering.
