Responsibilities
Chemistry Commissioning will be responsible for comprehensive chemical management and commissioning activities, ensuring the plant’s chemical systems operate optimally and comply with regulatory standards. The detailed responsibilities include: - Leading the chemistry commissioning activities during the startup phase of power plants, ensuring all chemical processes are implemented as per design and operational requirements. - Establishing and managing chemical control programs for boiler feed water, cooling water, condensate, and other critical water circuits to maintain system integrity and efficiency. - Conducting detailed chemical analysis and interpretation of results to identify potential issues such as corrosion, scaling, and contamination, implementing corrective measures proactively. - Collaborating closely with commissioning, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure chemical treatment aligns with operational procedures and optimizes plant performance. - Developing and maintaining chemical treatment procedures, commissioning plans, and safety protocols in accordance with statutory and environmental regulations. - Managing chemical inventory, procurement, and quality control to ensure uninterrupted availability of chemicals essential for commissioning and operation. - Monitoring and reporting key chemical parameters and trends to senior management, recommending improvements to enhance plant reliability and safety. - Coordinating with external laboratories and vendors for advanced chemical testing, calibration of instruments, and validation of chemical treatment methodologies. - Training and mentoring junior chemistry engineers and technicians to build a skilled and knowledgeable team capable of sustaining high standards in chemical management. - Implementing risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to chemical handling and commissioning processes, ensuring compliance with Adani’s safety and environmental policies. - Driving initiatives to optimize chemical usage and reduce environmental impact, supporting Adani’s commitment to sustainability and responsible resource management. - Participating in audits and inspections related to chemical commissioning, ensuring all findings are addressed promptly and effectively.
Qualifications
Education Qualification - Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline. - Master’s degree or higher qualification in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering will be an added advantage.
Certification Required - Certification in Water Chemistry or Industrial Water Treatment is preferred. - Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) certifications related to chemical handling are highly desirable.
Experience -Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in chemistry commissioning within the power or energy industry. - Proven track record in handling chemical analysis, water treatment, and commissioning protocols for thermal or renewable energy plants.
