Job Title: Assistant Manager – Procurement
Location: Mumbai, India (Gateway Terminals India Pvt Ltd – GTI / APM Terminals)
Reports to: Procurement Manager, GTI
NOTE: This role is based full-time at the GTI office and requires the incumbent to work from the terminal location: Gateway Terminals India Pvt Ltd, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), Sheva, Taluka Uran, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra 400707, India.

About The Role
You will be part of the APM Terminals Regional Procurement team while being based at
Gateway Terminals India (GTI), Mumbai. In this role, you will serve as the
Assistant Manager – Procurement, reporting to the
Procurement Manager, GTI, while also operating as an integral member of the Maersk Global Procurement organisation.
This role sits at the intersection of local execution and global strategy—offering a unique opportunity to influence procurement outcomes at both terminal and group levels.

Key Responsibilities
As an Assistant Manager – Procurement, you will:
- Lead day-to-day procurement operations at GTI, ensuring timely sourcing, contracting, and supplier engagement
- Manage end-to-end RFQs and negotiations, leveraging both local and global supplier networks
- Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Finance, HR/ER, Admin, and HSSE to deliver value beyond cost
- Develop and execute the annual procurement plan, focusing on savings, compliance, and service reliability
- Analyse spend data and market trends to identify cost optimisation and risk mitigation opportunities
- Support global category teams on strategic sourcing initiatives and large tenders, acting as the local execution anchor
- Drive adoption of Maersk’s procurement processes, governance, and digital tools
Who We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or project management
- Strong understanding of purchasing and contracting processes (domestic and import)
- Proven experience in end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and inventory management
- Good knowledge of EXIM processes and INCOTERMS
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and BI tools
- Strong negotiation, contracting, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
- Ability to work across cultures and geographies within a matrix organisation
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Logistics (preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver results independently
- Technical ability to understand requirements and identify alternate sourcing strategies
- Willingness to travel locally to the terminal and supplier locations as required
- Knowledge of IFS, Lean, or Six Sigma tools will be an added advantage
