Position : Assistant Manager Process Engineering
Location : Mahape, Navi Mumbai, India
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager – Process Engineering to drive manufacturing excellence by improving processes, enhancing product quality, and optimizing costs.
This role will work closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure efficient and scalable operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Main accountabilities of the role:
🏭 Process & Quality Management
- Develop and maintain PFMEA, Control Plans, SOPs, and Work Instructions for each process step in manufacturing
- Monitor process performance and resolve non-conformances through Root Cause Analysis & CAPA
- Conduct audits and ensure compliance with ISO / IATF standards
- Periodic audit of SOP to identify and incorporate changes arising out of engineering changes
- Be part of CFT for implantation of ISO and IATF system requirements
- Periodic calibration of Jigs and Fixtures
- Periodic inspection of special characteristics from 3rd Party Labs
- Daily monitoring of process non-conformances, Root Cause Analysis, implementation of Corrective / Preventive action
- Support calibration and inspection of tools, jigs, and fixtures
⚙️ Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
- Drive Lean initiatives to optimize shopfloor layout and reduce waste
- Conduct time studies, capacity planning, and cycle time improvements
- Conduct Lean Manufacturing training for new joiners
- Standardize processes across different product lines
- Participate in digitization / Industry 4.0 initiatives
💰 Cost Optimization
- Track and optimize indirect material and tooling costs
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities
- Collaborate with suppliers and SCM teams for efficiency and inventory control
📊 Performance & Projects
- Analyze KPIs and implement improvement actions
- Lead or support New Product Development (NPD) projects
- Prepare reports and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
✔Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical / Production / Automotive)
✔Experience in Process or Industrial Engineering within Automotive OEM, Tier 1, or Engineering industry
✔Exposure to ISO 9000 / IATF / Deming environments
✔ Hands-on experience in New Product Development
✔Hands-on exposure to mass production environments
✔Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools
✔Experience with PFMEA, SOPs, RCA, CAPA, 8D
